Winter driving tips

Winter driving in New England is treacherous, with people sliding around and getting stuck in snow banks. Do have any general tips for driving in these conditions and avoiding sliding vehicles?

You should decrease your speed and leave yourself plenty of room to stop. Allow at least three times more space than usual between you and the vehicle in front of you. Brake gently to avoid skidding. If your wheels start to lock up, ease off the brake. Turn on your lights to increase your visibility to other motorists.
