Current driving laws

I got my driver’s license in the 1950s in Southern California, but I have lived in Maryland for the past 38 years; however, I find myself still confused about some of the differences in driving laws between California in the 50s and 60s and Maryland since the 70s. What can I do to update my knowledge of current laws?

Driving laws vary by state, and they are often updated as time passes. What might have been legal when you got your license might no longer be legal now. An overview of a variety of motor vehicle laws can be found here, and your state’s Department of Motor Vehicles can provide you with the most current laws in your state.
